*The rates are in line with the rates determined by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit). Indirect time (e.g. writing reports and preparation) is included.

Health insurance coverage

Therapy Basis GGZ

Life Optimal has consciously chosen not to have contracts with health insurance companies in order to work independently from insurance influences so we can use our own professional judgement to see what is the necessary treatment for you. This means that we can’t invoice your insurance company directly. Therefore, you will initially need to pay for the treatment yourself and provide our monthly invoice to your insurance, who will reimburse you according to your insurance package. We work according to the NZA rules (Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit). For more information see www.contractvrijepsycholoog.nl

Important: in 2025 there are some changes in the reimbursement for contract free psychological care. Reimbursement will be between 52-76% depending on your specific insurance. In all cases your own risk will be charged first in 2025.

It’s strongly recommended to contact your health insurance to inform about coverage before you start therapy treatment. You don’t want to be surprised by any unexpected costs. It could be that you need approval to start therapy treatment at Life Optimal because we work contract free.

The treatment codes are:
Intake consult (Diagnostiek) 60 min rate (CO0562): € 190,-
Treatment consult (Behandeling) 60 min rate (CO0627): € 169,-

Uninsured care

Self pay, for example because you don’t have a specific diagnosis or because you don’t want a specific diagnosis (referral letter), is also possible. The rates are lower then (€ 120,- instead of € 169,- for 50 min consultation) because there is less administration time.

Coaching

Unlike therapy coaching is not covered by insurance and not VAT exempt. Life Optimal is therefor obliged to charge 21% VAT. As a business owner or freelance person (ZZP) you can deduct business coaching for tax purposes. Please be informed by your accountant or tax consultant.

Children and adolescents

Life Optimal has no contract with the municipality of Amsterdam to cover the costs of the treatment. This means that children and adolescents don’t need a referral letter from their general practitioner and parents need to pay the treatment themselves. The rates are comparable to the uninsured care rates.

neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is not covered by insurance. When you do the neurofeedback training sessions as part of personal development, in prevention of absenteeism or as part of a reintegration trajectory, maybe your employer is prepared to cover the costs. As a business owner or freelance person (ZZP) you can deduct neurofeedback training for tax purposes.

Cancellation policy

A session can be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge up to 24 working hours before the scheduled time. If a session is not properly cancelled or rescheduled 24 hours in advance, a no-show rate of € 70,-will be charged. This no-show invoice is not covered by insurance.
